Note: The name Cimex quinquemaculatus has been coined for "Cimex No 208" in Zschach, 1788. Its identity is disputed, some authors believe that it is identical with Coranus subapterus, but most authors currently place it in the synonym of the present species.

Note: Himacerus fuscopennis has been described as a separate species from China, but is probably identical with the present species.
