Identification
Very similar to the members of the genus Oxypoda, but the mandibles in Devia have two distal tips.
Distribution
Widely distributed in Europe, but usually a rare species. In Germany the species is declining and is now rarely recorded.
Biology
Requires moist, wet habitats. The species is usually found in the riparian vegetation along rivers, creeks and lakes.
