Distribution
Occurs in southern and eastern Europe and western Asia. There is a record for Germany, in Brandenburg, from 1886. Bleszynski (1965) regards this record as a misidentification, but the find may instead represent a stray from the eastern European range of this species. There is another record from Bayern, which is believed to be an introduction (Gaedicke and Heinicke, 1999), but which may also represent a stray from the native range in Austria.
