Subspecies

There are two subspecies, but only the nominate form occurs in Germany.

Distribution
Europe and northern Africa. Records from Asia are doubtful and are probably misidentifications of Asian Agriphila species. In Germany recorded from all Bundesländer; records from Baden-Württemberg and Thüringen date from before 1980.
