Synonyms
Plebejus pylaon
Plebeius pylaon
Kretania pylaon

Additional German names: Zephyr-Bläuling.

Note: The phylogenetic analysis by Talavera et al. (2013) removes this species from Plebejus and places it in Kretania. However, some of the nodes in that part of the phylogenetic tree that includes the relationships between Eumedonia, Agriades, Cyaniris, Aricia, and Kretania are not statistically supported. Thus, these parts are not fully resolved and the branching pattern might not reflect the true relationships. Indeed, the taxon pylaon is morphologically very similar to other species of Plebejus (e.g. blue color in the male, and brown female with orange markings), but differs from species of Kretania (e.g. both sexes brown with orange markings). I therefore retain the taxon pylaon in Plebejus.
