Synonyms
Aricia eumedon
Eumedonia eumedon

Note: This species is sometimes placed in the genus Eumedonia. This placement is also supported by the phylogenetic analysis by Talavera et al. (2013). However, some of the nodes in that part of the phylogenetic tree that includes the relationships between Eumedonia, Agriades, Cyaniris, Aricia, and Kretania are not statistically supported. Thus, these parts are not fully resolved and the branching pattern might not reflect the true relationships. Indeed, the taxon eumedon is morphologically very similar to other species of Aricia, e.g. no blue color in the male, and the white streak in the cell of the hindwing underside. I therefore retain the taxon eumedon in Aricia.
