Distribution
In Germany: widely distributed and found in all Bundesländer.
Occurs also in: most countries in Europe, except for southern areas.
Large parts of Asia. North Africa.
Biology
Imagines fly from August and overwinter. Last specimens from the
previous year may be found until May. Egg deposition is thought to
occur in spring (Hannemann 1995). Larvae are found in July. Larval
foodplant: Salix spec. Larvae live in a tube-shaped cocoon and pupates
on the food plants or near them on the ground (Hannemann 1995).
