Nematopogon magnus

< Previous    |    Next >

Subspecies
No subspecies are recognized. Nematopogon magnus has long been considered as a subspecies or synonym of Nematopogon pilellus, but is actually a separate species.

Synonyms
Nemophora pilella magna Zeller, 1878
Nemophora magna (Zeller, 1878)
Nematopogon magna (Zeller, 1878)
Nematopogon magnus (Zeller, 1878)
Nemophora variella Brandt, 1937
Nematopogon variella (Brandt, 1937)
Nemophora anonymella Lewin, 1945

Nematopogon is of masculine gender (pogon = greek "beard" m.), thus the original species epithet "magna" has to be adjusted to "magnus".
