HOW TO PREPARE FOR LECTURES
Please read the respective pages in the textbook J. A. W. Bennett, et al., ed., The Oxford History of English Literature, vols. I-III (rev. ed. 1990) = vols I.2-II.2 (orig. ed.), available in my semester apparatus, as well as the projected course material, which will be available under the section Dateien in Stud.IP shortly before each session.
It is highly recommended that you visit the weekly tutorial for revision (tutor: Cornelia Zeh).
It is also very useful for you to consult further publications for more information. Here you can find a selective Bibliography with some suggested reading. A good concise survey is, for example, Baugh, A. C., 'The Middle English Period (1100-1500)', in A Literary History of England, 2nd ed., ed. A. C. Baugh, vol. 1, part 2, pp. 107-312 (London, 1967) [in semester apparatus].
ASSESSMENT FACTORS
The date and form of the final examination depends on the respective modules (the distribution of contents is merely one possibility and may be subject to change!):

Modules B.EP.43a-B.EP.43e: date of examination announced in relevant PS or S (1/2 lecture material, 1/2 from chosen PS or S); length: 90 mins.

Modules B.EP.26, B.EP.32 and B.EP.33: date of examination announced in relevant PS or S (1/2 lecture material, 1/2 from chosen PS or S); length: 90 mins.

Modules B.EP.24 and B.EP.25: written coursework in chosen PS (1/3 lecture material, 2/3 from chosen PS).

Exchange students, e.g. Erasmus: date of examination tba; length: 90 mins.
