Biology
Food plant of the larvae is almost exclusively Yarrow (Achillea millefolium), sometimes other species of Achillea are also used (e.g. Achillea ptarmica, Achillea tomentosa, Achillea filipendula). There are rare reports of additional foodplants, that include Artemisia vulgaris, Artemisia abrotanum, Tanacetum vulgare, Carlina acaulis, and Centaurea nigra. Some of these reports may be based on misidentifications of the larvae, because the larvae of e.g. Eupithecia succenturiata are virtually identical.
