Xeris spectrum

Subspecies
Four subspecies are currently recognized, but these might be only color variants that fall into the normal variation of the species:
Xeris spectrum spectrum Linnaeus, 1758
Xeris spectrum cobosi Viedma et Suarez, 1961
Xeris spectrum malaisei Maa, 1949
Xeris spectrum townesi Maa, 1949

All other subspecies that have been described in the literature are currently not recognized. More work is required to establish the validity (or invalidity) of all the subspecies.

Only the nominate subspecies occurs in Germany.
