Subspecies
No subspecies are recognized.

Synonyms
Elachestus pallipes Nees, 1834 (p. 138)
Elachertus pallipes (Nees, 1834)
Chrysocharis pallipes (Nees, 1834)
Elachistus pallidipes Von Dalla-Torre, 1898

nec Chrysocharis chilo (see note below)

Note: in most recent works, this name is listed as a senior synonym and valid name for Chrysocharis chilo. However, I have not yet been able to trace the publication where this synonymy is proposed. I do not adopt this synonymy here (see Chrysocharis chilo for more details).

The original description of Elachistus pallipes Nees, 1834 is not unequivocal and also fits a few other species of Chrysocharis. In my opinion Chrysocharis pallipes can only be identified conclusively by studying the types (I do not know whether they are still extant or where they are). I regard the taxon as a nomen dubium and list it here only provisionally as a separate species, until its likely identity can be established.
