Subspecies
No subspecies are recognized. However, this is a very polymorphic species, with a number of "morphs" that have been described as either specific to the animal host, or to the plant that the animal host feeds on. Thus, very obviously, there are more than one species involved, as already suggested by Hansson (1985), but no thorough analysis is available yet and all names given to "morphs" of the present species are placed in synonymy for the time being (see synonymy below).
