Subspecies
No subspecies are recognized.

Synonyms
Cinipsichneumon foliincolarum Christ, 1791 (p. 380) (original misspelling of genus name)
Type locality: not specified, but probably Kronberg im Taunus where he lived at the time.
Cynipsichneumon foliincolarum (Christ, 1791)
Chrysocharis foliincolarum (Christ, 1791)

This is a very doubtful species and its identity is entirely unclear. It is therefore missing from most faunal lists, catalogues and from the revision of the genus by Hansson (1985). Other authors list it as a valid species, but do not give evidence for its identification or its combination with the genus Chrysocharis. In fact, the original description is not sufficient to identify the taxon even on the genus level. Judging from the figure in Christ (1791) it could indeed be a Chrysocharis, based on the thin petiolus and the shape of the thorax and the gaster. Together with the host given by Christ (leaf-mining lepidoptera mainly on cherry trees) this suggests that the taxon could be identical with any of the Chrysocharis species known to parasitize lepidopteran larvae on different trees. On the other hand, Cinipsichneumon foliincolarum is described as a species with metallic green-golden legs. Most species of Chrysogaster, however, have pale, white or yellow legs; the leg color would be more compatible with species of the genus Pediobius. Thus, the present taxon must be regarded as a nomen dubium that is likely identical to another known species of Chrysocharis, Pediobius or related genera. I list it here only provisionally, until its true identity can be established with more confidence.

Identification
No information has been entered yet.

Distribution
Only known from the original description by Christ (1791). He does not give a locality, but it is generally assumed that he collected the specimens in Germany, more precisely Kronberg im Taunus, where he lived at the time of writing his book on hymenopterans.
