Trechnites insidiosus

Subspecies

Original description

Synonyms
Psylledontus insidiosus Crawford, 1910
Trechnites insidiosus (Crawford, 1910)
Metallon psyllae Ruschka, 1923
Trechnites psyllae (Ruschka, 1923)

Note: the extreme similarity between Trechnites insidiosus and Trechnites psyllae has been noted before, but most authors still regarded both taxa as separate species based on subtle differences (e.g. antennal morphology). However, Guerrieri and Noyes (2009) were able to show that these differences are intraspecific variations and thus confirmed the synonymy of the two names.
