Distribution
Originally known from New Zealand and Australia, the species has spread all over the globe and is now recorded from many other countries as well. It occurs in North, Central and South America, Australia and New Zealand, southern Africa, the Caucasus, the Middle East, and southeastern Asia. In Europe it is currently recorded from Italy, France, Belgium and the UK. The first record for Germany has been published by Peters (2014).


Biology
Parasitizes in the larvae and pupae of several fly species. Many of its hosts are synanthropic species, e.g. genera Musca, Stomoxys, Fannia and Lucilia.
