Agathis syngenesiae

Subspecies
Simbolotti and van Achterberg (1999) distinguish two different forms of this species, one of which is restricted to the southern Palearctic region, while the other form occurs in Central and western Europe. The minor differences between the two forms and their allopatric distribution strongly suggest a subspecies status of the two forms. However,
Simbolotti and van Achterberg (1999) synonymize all taxa and do not recognize subspecies. I provisionally accept this notion until more data on the two forms becomes available.
