Most of the taxa that are now synonymized with Agathis fuscipennis have been described as separate species and some authors still regard them as bonae species. However, the morphological characters (mainly the shape of the pterostigma and the color of the maxillary palp) are variable even among the offspring of a single female (Simbolotti and van Achterberg 1999). Thus I follow Simbolotti and
van Achterberg (1999) in their synonymy.
