Subspecies
Two subspecies are recognized:
(1) Chartoscirta
elegantula elegantula (Fallen, 1807)
(2) Chartoscirta
elegantula longicornis (Jakovlev, 1882)
The taxonomic status of the subspecies is
currently unclear and they may be in fact
identical. Their sparation is difficult and
the distribution records may therefore include
a significant number of misidentifications;
thus, the exact distribution of the two
subspecies is unclear. However, so far only
the nominate subspecies has been reported from
Germany.
