subspecies are recognized. However, the status of Globiceps juniperi is
discussed controversially and some authors regard it as a synonym of
Globiceps salicicola Reuter, 1880 (recorded from eastern Europe and
Asia). I provisionally retain both taxa as separate species, but more
research on the status of both forms is required.
