Identification
Size: 6-6.6 mm.
Distribution
The species occurs in the southern part of
Europe, in southern Russia and in the Caucasus.
In Germany the species is known from most
Länder, but is more frequent in the south.
In the north the species is still quite rare,
but population sizes are increasing.
Biology
Host plants include oak (Quercus), alder (Alnus)
and elm (Ulmus). The females deposit their eggs
in leaf litter beneath their host plants or on
the surface of their branches and fruits.
Overwintering individuals can be found from
March, the next generation is present in June.
The presence of larvae in September indicates
that there might be a (partial?) second
generation in favorable years.
