Syritta pipiens
Gemeine Keulenschwebfliege

< Previous    |    Parent    |    Next >

Subspecies
No subspecies are recognized. However, Lyneborg and Barkemeyer (2005) report differences in leg color in animals from Rhodes, Cyprus, Israel and Pakistan. This points to a genetic differentiation of the population of south-eastern Europe and south-western Asia, and this population might at some point be recognised as a separate subspecies.
