Identification
There are several similar species. Differs from Eupeodes lapponicus by the curvature of vein r4+5: strongly curved in lapponicus, slightly curved in luniger. Differs from Eupeodes corollae by the extent of the yellow abdominal marks: marks reach the lateral margin in corollae, but end before the margin in luniger. Similar marks also occur in the genus Scaeva, but this genus can be identified by its swollen face.
