Bradysia commixta (Winnertz, 1867)
Note: this is a nomen dubium. Only the
holotype, a female specimen, is known and the
specimen is only partially preserved (Menzel
and Mohrig (1999)). The name might be a
synonym of Bradysia pallipes, but important
characters are damaged and missing on the type
specimen; in addition, females of Bradysia
cannot be safely identified with the presently
available characters. The study of DNA from
the type and comparison with other Bradysia
species might provide more information.
