Loxocera ichneumonea auct. nec Linnaeus, 1761

Note: Musca ichneumonea described from Sweden by Linnaeus (1761) is a doubtful species that cannot be identified on the basis of the original description and the types appear to be lost. Most current authors assume that the name refers to a hoverfly species (Syrphidae), but in previous times the name has also been applied to the present species; however, this is here regarded as a misidentification. Musca ichneumonea is here regarded as a nomen dubium that most likely refers to a Syrphidae.
