Original description
Original spelling: Tachydromia curvinervis

Zetterstedt JW (1842). Diptera Scandinaviae, Tomus 1. Officina Lundbergiana, Lund. The present species is described on page 301.

Description text: "nigra, nitida, thorace levissime cinereo-pruinoso; palpis halteribusque albis; antennis parvis pedibusque nigris, geniculis, tibiis tarsisque testaceis, femoribus anticis subincrassatis; alis cinereo-hyalinis, nervis fuscis, longitudinalibus: 2:do brevi, 3 & 4 parallelis, 5:to subabbreviato, transversis remotis. Long. 1 lin."

Differential diagnosis: "Affinis & similis T. femorali & sordidae, sed ab illa epistomate nigro, nec albo, thorace cinereo-micante, necatro, & ab hac palpis albis, antennarumque seta longiori, & ab utraque femoribus anticis reliquis paullo validioribus, nec intermediis crassissimis, tarsis non infuscatis, alarum nervis longitudinali 2:do breviori, subincurvo (ut in T. mioriella n:o 33), & transversis remotis, differt. Caput nigrum, oculis infra antennas subcohaerentibus. Haustellum breve, a palpis albis, perspicuis fere ad apicem tectum. Pedes flavo-testacei, coxis femoribusque in medio latissime nigris, tibiis posticis in medio, tarsorumque omnium articulo ultimo, fuscis. Obs. Drapeti generi valde affinis est haec species."

Type locality: "Hab. in Suecia media rarissime; ad Lärketorp Ostrogothiae unicum specimen masculum & tria feminea d. 24 Jul. 1834 inveni."
