Note: this species is placed in Lasiohelea by Yu and Liu (2006). However, I follow Borkent and Wirth (1997) who consider Lasiohelea as a subgenus of Forcipomyia. Forcipomyia contains a large number of species placed into several subgenera, and elevating single subgenera to genus rank might render the remaining assemblage paraphyletic. A comprehensive phylogenetic analysis is required to assess the status of the subgenera of Forcipomyia.
