Villa cingulata (Meigen, 1804)
Type locality: "In hiesiger Gegend ist sie selten" (= around Stolberg near Aachen).

When Lioy (1864) established the genus Villa he wrote: "Dedichiamo questo genere, che crediamo ormai necessario di separare dagli Anthrax, ai fratelli Villa, illustri entomologi di Milano" (translation: "We dedicate this genus, which we think must now be separated from Anthrax, to the brothers Villa, distinguished entomologists from Milan"). Thus, the name is not Latin or Greek, but an Italian surname and Article 30.2. of the Code regulates the gender of non-greek and non-latin words. Lioy (1864) has used the genus name clearly as a feminine word, because for all species that he included in his new genus he used species epithets with feminine endings. This is thus clear evidence in the sense of Article 30.2. that Villa is of feminine gender (see also Prpic 2016).
