Recorded from Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Modova. The first record for Germany dates from 2014 in the Danubian riparian forest near Bergheim (Bayern) (Weichselbaumer 2014).

Biology
This species feeds on the monkshood Aconitum napellus. The larvae feed within the stem of the host plant; from the outside only small drill holes can be seen, but often the whole plant above the drill hole is black and dry, a clear sign of infestation with the present species. The imagines can be found from May to August.
