Identification
Distribution
A
mediterranean species, recorded from coastal areas of France, Italy,
Turkey, Algeria. Whether the species is also distributed elsewhere is
debated. Köhler and Klausnitzer (1998) list the records of this
species from Germany (Rheinland-Pfalz) as misidentifications. There
seem to be no genuine records of this species from Germany. Ruta et al.
(2010) list a find of this species from southern Poland, which would
indicate that the species indeed occurs in Central Europe. However, the
species of Orthoperus are very similar and misidentifications are
frequent.
