Subspecies Original description Synonyms Identification Distribution Native to Australia this species is sold worldwide for pest control (especially against mealybugs). It is frequently used in greenhouses in Germany and escapers can be found in their vicinity in the summer. However, the animals are unlikely to survive the winter in Germany. The species should nevertheless be closely monitored, because it can use the warm season to spread from greenhouses to other permanently heated buildings and thus become established in Germany similar to the spider Uloborus plumipes or the woodlouse Armadillidium nasutum.
