Phytoecia nigricornis

< Previous    |    Next >

Subspecies
Some authors regard Phytoecia julii as a subspecies of the present species. However, Phytoecia julii appears to be largely sympatric with Phytoecia nigricornis, which argues against subspecies status and suggests that it is a separate species (see there).

Synonyms
Phytoecia nigricornis (Fabricius, 1781)

The status of Phytoecia julii is debated: some authors regard it as a synonym or a subspecies of Phytoecia nigricornis. I regard it as a separate species (see there).
