Agapanthia intermedia

< Previous    |    Next >

Subspecies
Some authors regard Agapanthia intermedia only as an individual variant of Agapanthia violacea. This is not adopted here and no subspecies of Agapanthia intermedia are recognized.

Synonyms
The status of Agapanthia intermedia is debated. Some authors regard it as a synonym of Agapanthia violacea. I retain them here as two separate species, because they seem to differ in ecology.

Identification
Body length 7-13 mm.

Distribution
The distribution of Agapanthia intermedia is unclear due to its debated status. Its range in Germany appears to overlap largely with the range of Agapanthia violacea.
