 Prosoma shape and eye pattern. After Hannemann et al. 1992. Subspecies Some taxa have been listed as subspecies, but I do not recognize them here and include them in the synonymy below. There is also a large number of species described from southern Europe and the islands of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, some of which might prove to be conspecific with Dysdera crocata, either as synonyms or as subspecies. I do not treat these taxa here, because they were not described from Germany. This group of taxa ("Dysdera crocata species group") requires a full taxonomic revision.
