Here you find the suggested course schedule. Each session will feature a presentation including sound- and video-clips and discussion. Presentations should be based on the secondary literature found in the Bibliography, such as R. Hogg et al., ed., The Cambridge History of the English Language, 6 vols. (Cambridge, 1992-2001), vols. 5 and 6, B. Kortmann, et al., ed., Varieties of English, 4 vols. (Oxford, 2008), and T. McArthur, Oxford Guide to World English (Oxford, 2002). In addition, everybody is expected to read the relevant chapters in our textbook G. Melchers and P. Shaw, World Englishes, 2nd ed. (London, 2011).
