The city of Göttingen is located centrally in Germany and to reach by the airports of Hannover and Frankfurt, by intercity station and the autobahn A7: Lageplan
The Old Botanical Garden (see citymap) is situated in the old center of the town. From the station follow Goetheallee, Prinzenstraße, Weender Straße and Untere Karspüle (about 20 Min. by foot). By bus depart at Auditorium. If you arrive by car on the A7 coming from the North, get off at exit Göttingen Nord. At the end of the autobahn turn right into Weender Landstraße and follow it some kilometers to the city center. It will lead you directly to the Auditorium at the corner of Weender Landstr./Nikolausberger Weg. Try to get a parking lot in one of the indicated parkhouses. If you approach Göttingen on A7 from the South, take exit Göttingen. Turn right and follow Kasseler Landstraße straight eastward for a few kilometers, continue on Groner Landstraße and finally turn left into Berliner Straße at the rim of the old city center. Passing by the station you'll soon arrive at the Auditorium, where you should try to find a parking lot.
Daily hours: The garden is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on
monday to friday. The houses from 9.30 a.m. - 2.45 p.m. At the
weekend only the garden is open from 8.00 a.m. - 15.00 p.m.
The Neue Botanische Garten (see Stadtplan) is situated in the North of town and next to highway B 27. From the station you'll take the bus 18 to Nikolausberg (Linie 18) and depart at "Am Faßberg", directly above the garden. Turn right downhill to Grisebachstraße and follow it until the entrance opens in a hedge. If you arrive by car on A7, take exit Göttingen Nord and follow the highway eastward to Braunlage and Duderstadt. Straight on you'll enter highway B 27, which leads you directly to the garden. At the crossroad with a chinese restaurant at the right side, turn left toward Nikolausberg. After 500m left again into Grisebachstraße, where the entrace of the garden is located. Parking lots are available within the garden !

The Forstbotanischer Garten is located adjacent to the Neuer Botanischer Garten.The Forstbotanischer Garten is situated above the Neuer Botanischer Garten on the other side of Grisebachstraße.
