ASSESSMENT

Here you find what you need to do in order to pass this course:

HOW TO PREPARE FOR CLASSES

  • Study the textbook: Görlach, M., Einführung ins Frühneuenglische, 2nd ed. (Heidelberg, 1994). Prepare the relevant pages, and note all problems and arising questions for discussion in class. It is recommended that you consult further publications for more information, especially Barber, C., Early Modern English, 2nd ed. (Edinburgh, 1997) [S JA 1976:1¹]. A good text collection also covering the Early Modern English period is D. Burnley, The History of the English Language: a Source Book, 2nd ed. (Harlow, 2000) [S FA 1992:3].

  • Study and prepare any relevant handouts sent out by e-mail and found in the folder labelled Traxel Proseminar in the departmental library. Note all problems and arising questions for discussion in class.

  • Here you can find a Bibliography with further publications.

  • ASSESSMENT FACTORS

  • Piece of coursework to be handed in by 10 October (discussion of texts in final session).

  • Regular participation and preparation as well as commitment in class. This may be taken into account when calculating the final mark.
