SCHEDULE

Here you find the provisional course schedule for this semester with approximate dates; it is by no means final and may be adapted. Sessions take place every Thursday and on alternate Mondays (there are two exceptions, indicated in italics). All students are expected to give project presentations within a group (45 minutes including exercises and discussion). There are ca. ten projects which are due to start after reading week. You may suggest possible fields which you are interested in or I will advise you on feasible topics. I will then point you to some literature you can work with.

The main textbook is Wardhaugh, Ronald, & Janet M. Fuller. 2015. An Introduction to Sociolinguistics. 7th ed. Blackwell Textbooks in Linguistics 4. Chichester: Wiley Blackwell. The chapter numbers are indicated in the schedule. You are also encouranged to consult further publications, some of which are listed in the Bibliography.
