Here you find the provisional course schedule for this semester with approximate dates; it is by no means final and may be adapted. All students are expected to give project presentations within a group (at least 30 minutes plus exercises and discussion). There are ten projects which are due to start after reading week. You may suggest possible fields which you are interested in. I will then point you to some literature you can work with.

The main textbook is Wardhaugh, Ronald, & Janet M. Fuller. 2015. An Introduction to Sociolinguistics. 7th ed. Blackwell Textbooks in Linguistics 4. Chichester: Wiley Blackwell. The chapter numbers are indicated in the schedule (chapter numbers in square brackets are from the 6th ed. if you use that one). You are also encouranged to consult further publications, some of which are listed in the Bibliography.
