The present taxon is often regarded as a synonym of Dineura testaceipes, but Liston et al. (2019) regard it as a separate species based on differences in larval host plant and penis valve morphology, and because a phylogenetic sequence analysis of partial sequences of COI and TPI genes place the two taxa in separate clades. I follow this notion here.
Identification
No information has been entered yet.
Distribution
Throughout Europe and recorded from most countries, but apparently absent from Spain and Portugal.
Biology
Several host plants have been reported in the literature, but might refer to different species of Dineura. Only confirmed host plant are species of hawthorn (Crataegus) (Liston et al. 2019).
