Subspecies
No subspecies are recognized. The taxon shanxiensis Xue, Wang et Wu,
1998 that has been described as a subspecies of Piezura graminicola and
has formerly has been treated by some authors as a subspecies of the
present
species, has been elevated to species rank by
Wang et al. (2010).

Note: the name "graminicola" has been misapplied until 2002 when
Pont (2002)
showed that the type material of the taxon graminicola actually
belonged to the species previously called "boletorum" and not to the
present species.
