Identification
A tiny beetle, body length 1.8 - 2.0 mm. Dark brown or blackish appearance, but the legs and the entire antennae are yellow-brown.
Distribution

Biology
The beetles feed on diverse slime molds (e.g. genera Stemonitis, Fuligo). The species often occurs together with the second species of Sphindidae, Aspidiphorus orbiculatus, with which it shares a similar biology.
