From 18th to 22th of March 16 master and Ph.D students from eight countries learned and discussed different methods of sampling, sample preparation, tree ring measurements, chemical wood analysis, image analysis and data treatment.
Wood samples from tropical trees, native species and samples of beams from the castle Nienover were investigated.
Most of participants were performing tree ring related studies in different tropical countries and with different focus. To get an intense exchange of information presentations were held in the afternoons.
