Real-Time PCR allows us to estimate fungal biomass with high specificity and sensitivity. The first assay Ines Pöhler established in our lab targets Fusarium culmorum. It is based on published primers [Schilling AG, Moller EM & Geiger HH (1996): Phytopathology 86:515-522].
