After six months of operation it was time to clean our triple-quad for the first time. Dr. Tobias Licha helped us to disassemble, clean and - most important - to asseble the detector again. The golden crescent which Tobias holds in his hand is half of the collision cell, which has a U-form in our instrument. In addition to the detector, on the left picture you see an autosampler and a column oven with a syringe pump (violett) on the top.

As Tobias is disassembling the detector, Uli keeps track of small parts. Each screw, spring and nut has to come back to the right place, in the right order. Left of Tobias' ellbow you see a disassembled electrospray ion source. Photo on the right: Final adjustments before the detector was closed.
